For those who don't know, I'm organizing a collab about the flipaclip and at the moment, it's going well:

Well, one of the participants made an animation about a song. This song is a meme that's currently very popular. However, this song was generated by artificial intelligence. When he posted the animation here on Newgrounds, many people gave him zero stars for using a song created by artificial intelligence. Because of this, the movie was removed by the author himself.
In my opinion, I don't see any problem with songs generated by A.I. I mean, it's fine if it's used for humorous purposes. At the moment, I haven't seen anyone using these tools for their work. But you know, I wanted to know your opinion on A.I. generated music.

I have the same opinion I have for AI-generated images: it must be ethical (respect worker's rights and the right of artists to make art and not replace them just because it's more convenient from a monetary point of view), respect the intellectual property of the artists (for example, Polish digital artist Greg Rutkowski has stated that it is more difficult to search for his work online because many of the images in the results are AI-generated specifically to mimic his style), be as much ecological-friendly as possible (1), not be deceptive at creating fake news or deepfakes (same for both images and sounds) and respect data gathered from people. On a personal level AI-generated content doesn't give me strong feelings, not a big fan of it actually. I've listened to an AI-generated music on YT, it was funny at best but didn't gave me those strong emotions even humpback whales can give me with their complicated songs.
People did the right thing zerobombing his creation since it violates the ToS of Newgrounds, here only stuff you personally made is accepted. If you go to the Audio Guidelines page you will notice how it clearly states:
"AI Music
Please do not share AI (made by machine learning algorithm) music here.
If your song was generated via AI, we do not consider this your own original work and you should not share it here. Subtle use of AI is acceptable, for example if you are using AI-generated components as part of a larger original composition."

If you want to use AI to make music for fun (don't post here or places that do not want AI stuff though) you still have to check if it's royalty-free, if you can use it for free or not in case you want to share it. If you want to use it for private use (you keep it in your home) and never post it then I don't see the problem. Considering how AI stuff is evolving and how the legal system has to rapidly evolve to adapt this new challenge, I for now wouldn't like to see my stuff used in an AI context. Sorry but after what DeviantArt did, the whole AI stuff rubbed me the wrong way.
(1) Researchers from Hugging Face and Carnegie Mellon University reported in a 2023 paper that generating one thousand 1024×1024 images using Stable Diffusion's XL 1.0 base model requires 11.49 kWh of energy and generates 1,594 grams (56.2 oz) of carbon dioxide, which is roughly equivalent to driving an average gas-powered car a distance of 4.1 miles (6.6 km). Comparing 88 different models, the paper concluded that image-generation models used on average around 2.9 kWh of energy per 1,000 inferences.
