Very true. :)
There probably is some luck involved too, but from what I've experienced there are always plenty of users competing to scout people in the unscouted section, as soon as someone with really good art comes along you really have to be fast to scout them. There's probably a middle ground of artists who are pretty good, but just not THAT good, that still linger there, and could use some connects to get scouted... but if you get real good I don't think you really need luck at all. The better you get the faster you get in.

That is true my friend, plus if you're lucky enough, you got descouted, it's easy for you to get your scout back
I was in the most confusing situation with getting scouted. I got scouted by someone who then got unscouted, I then got my art pruned, then got my art un-pruned, then got scouted by being in the Boner collab, then got un-scouted, and then got my art pruned, again.

Hmph. You know, you are not exactly 'wrong', but the 'concept' of the achievement itself it's not just as 'simple' as that. There is also a 'huge' factor of 'luck' (and also of 'patience' too, but that's another factor aside) that you must 'have-into-account' and that you must 'possess' if you actually want to get scouted, someday. It's not just everything about 'the-quality-of-your-art', but also 'the-quality-of-your-luck' as well, largery (if you don't believe me, then you only have to 'surf' around the page and discover by yourself the 'quantity' of artists that they actually submit a lot of 'quality-art', but they are not just 'lucky-enough' like the others, and they never get the opportunity to get scouted and 'being-recognized' for their 'talent' under the 'degree' that they actually deserve.)
